We spent this last weekend at Ethiopian Heritage camp in the Santa Cruz mts with many other families who have adopted from Ethiopia, adult Ethiopian adoptees and Ethiopians from the community. I can't remember ever feeling such a sense of community. There is an instant bond with others who have adopted children from Ethiopia. It was so wonderful to be with families who looked like ours and be able to just "be" a family...no stares and no adoption questions. We can't wait to go next year!
